Rove shook the popcorn packet. "Damn! Its empty!" he exclaimed, throwing it in the bin.
"How come? The movie hasn't even started yet" said Wil.
"Well I seem to remember certain people doing a good job in helping me finish it" he accused.
"Look, I'll go get some more" said Mark. "Now stop grumbling"
"What are we seeing anyway?" asked Wil.
Rove checked his ticket.
"Pokemon 2000"
Wil screamed. "Not that! Anything but that!"
"I believe it was you who chose the movie" said Rove
Wil thought for a second. "No I didn't! I wanted to see (insert girly movie here)"
"Who picked this movie then?"
Paul burrowed himself in his seat.
"YOU! How could you subject us to this!" Wil abused him.
"It's not like we're going to watch it, are we?" Paul said defensively.
Rove grinned. "I know I'm not"
"You're not what?" asked Mark coming back, carrying two large cartons of popcorn. "Sorry bout the popcorn. The attendant decided he anted to burn it. So what weren't you doing?"
"Not going to watch the movie"
Mark frowned. "What movie is it?"
"Pokemon 2000" moaned Wil.
"Oh wow! I've wanted to see this, after loving the first one. (*gag*--FR) If you're not going to watch it, I'm sitting somewhere else"
Paul sniggered. "Have fun over there!" he called, then turned his attention back to Rove and Wil.
"It's lucky we're the only one in here" he grinned. "Why is that anyway/"
Rove checked his watch. " No kids are gonna be up at.11pm to watch this crap" he explained.
"Who cares anyway? We're alone, for the first time since the thing in the country" he grinned.
Suddenly the lights began to dim. Rove threw a handful of popcorn at mark.
"What was that for?" he turned around angrily.
"Nothing!" grinned Rove. Mark turned back around. "Women" Rove muttered.
"So do you wanna do it now?" asked Wil, eyebrows raised.
Paul sat singing Grapevine to that really crap Movieline song, and didn't hear.
"Hey Monkey Boy, you got the stuff?"
Paul turned back to them and smiled. "Yeah I do. Aren't you going to watch the movie though?" he teased.
Wil shook his head. "I don't want to watch it. You know I've been looking forward to this for a while. After seeing it on the late night dot com show"
"Come on Pauly. This is the only chance we'll get to do it for awhile. You know Belinda doesn't like us doing it at my place. She says we make too much noise. And of course we can't do it a yours or Wil's."
"I'm not running a service here you know, and I don't know if I'm any good anymore. I haven't done this in a long time" he suddenly worried.
Wil shyly smiled. "To me Paul, you're still the one" he said quietly.
"Come on Paul! It's dark, we're all together.and we've got all the stuff. Don't we? Did you bring it?" Wil said, suddenly worried that they were without equipment.
Paul pulled a plastic bag out from under his seat.
"I almost left it in the car you know, after all that" he nervously laughed.
Wil pulled out the long slender object and stoked it lovingly. He then looked up at Rove and Paul and raised his eyeborw.
"I think I might whip your asses tonight"
"You will?" asked Rove hopefully.
"Yeah, I think I will" he said slowly.
Paul set up the equipment and turned on the tiny lights attached.
After a few quick moves, he had Wil backed up in the corner.
"Checkmate" he whispered.
"Damn! I don't like playing night chess with you anymore!"
