Part 2

I went to sleep thinking of the new boy who knocked me off my bike and woke up with the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life. I couldn't move without a sharp stab darting through my leg. I looked down and my knee was bright purple and swollen. I called my mother and she was so concerned. I hate when parents do that. She didnt let me do anything. I couldnt even go to the toilet without her pulling down my pants and helping me onto the seat.

She dragged me to the doctor, insisting that I get it checked. All I wanted to do was go to school and see if the new boy was there. He fascinated me somehow. I dont know quite how to describe the feeling, but I liked it. Anyway it turned out that during the fall id torn a ligament and needed to go on crutches. The doctor mentioned something about an operation. Just the thought made me shudder. And now I couldnt even go to school. I had to stay home and wait until I had this operation before mum would let me go anywhere. 4 - 6 weeks on crutches sounded like hell, but I guess I couldnt do anything about it.
I found out that it would only be a week before my operation. Mum said that she was glad we joined up with some Private health thing, It made me happy too.

It took a bit to get use to the crutches but it was kinda fun. Cathy came over and she had a fantastic time playing around in my back yard. Even Rich came over to see how I was. We were all talking when I heard a familiar voice coming from around the corner.

"Hi?" I heard being called from the driveway.

"Back here!" I Called back not knowing who was walking to see me.

My heart stopped when he rounded the corner with a bunch of flowers. They were half dead an looked like they came from my garden, but it was so sweet.

"I ahh just thought I would come around and apologize for. Y 'know"

"Hehehehehe, it's ok really" He blushed so badly. It actually surprised me after the performance he put on when he knocked me over."

"I. Ahhhh" he looked at the flowers in his hand, and then at me, and then at Rich and Cathy before putting the flowers behind his back "Never mind"

Rich and Cathy had this really smug look on their faces.

"We've gotta go Chris" Rich said winking at me and I had to laugh. Their maturity was so overwhelming.

They said goodbye and ran out the front and down the street giggling, Paul's face went an even brighter shade of crimson.

"Sit down" I said and he obediently did so.

"This is a nice house. I love this garden"

"yeah"

"yeah"

"So. Are you going to the local school?"

"Yeah"

"Are they putting you in year 8?"

"Actually year 7 believe it or not"

"You're kidding? Why???"

"I dunno. But hey, at least I've already got a friend in year 7" He was looking away when he said this and I smiled, I swear I was blushing.

"I gotta go now," he said as if he wanted to hide.

"Umm Ok cya later?"

"Sure"

He got up and jogged out of my back yard. I was just about to go inside and I noticed something in the grass. It was a wallet. It didnt look like Rich's. I opened it up and looked inside. It had a picture of Paul inside it on a old high school card. I didnt know if I should bring it back. I put it in my pocket and hobbled back inside. I watched a bit of TV, but I couldnt lose the idea of returning his wallet.

I told mum I was going across the road and she told me to take it easy. I made my way over, took a deep breath and knocked on the door. His mother came to the door.

"Hi Mrs. McDermott, Is Paul home?"

She eyed me for a few seconds and smiled

"Sure honey he's in his shed out back, just walk around the back"

"Thanks a lot"

I made my way around the back and knocked on the door. I heard nothing. I knocked again and there was still no reply. I walked around to look for a window. I heard something coming from around the shed so I cautiously made my way around.

"Oh my God! I'm so sorry!!!!!!"

I turned around and moved as fast as I could to get away from the.

"Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god!!!" I kept telling myself..

Oh my god.
