Part 3
Its weird how things happen. We left that club that night informing the manager that we wouldnt be returning. He was so disapointed but understood our reasoning. Well the reason that we told him anyway, which was basically that the night went so damn well we wanted to leave on a high note. He thought it was fantastic business instinct and told us we had to return on their next tour.
We all actually enjoye it which was the funny thing. Not so much the other men touching us, but the thrill of a new audience, people cheering us on for something we had never done before, something i dont think anyone has done before. Not the stripping, but the comedy strip. My head was filling up with ideas for other shows... Shows i knew id never do but it was fun to think about... new material... new songs... i could dance...
Course i wasnt expecting what i saw the next day.
"PAUL!!!! Paul i think you should see this" Rich called me and burst into the bathroom carrying a copy of the canberra times.
"whats up rich?" i asked but he didnt have to answer...
"Retired comedy trio return to the lime light... naked!"
was the heading and my mouth dropped.
"Remember the Doug Anthony Allstars? Well it seems their 10 nears of stardom wasnt enough. The ex-comedy trio conducted its reunion tour and ended it in Canberra with a bang! But perhaps it wasnt the end. At new male strip club 707 the allstars put on an amazing performance including a mixture of their comedy style and fantastic dancing which left the audience begging for more..."
The article went on a bit and ended up calling us DAASS... the Doug Anthony Allstar Strippers.
"oh my god... oh my fukin god!
"Guys??" Tim said walking into the room holding a note pad full of writing..
"There are hundreds of places wanting us to do a show!"
