Part 13

didn’t hear a word from Paul. No letter… no phone call… nothing… I began to just… settle in to the fact that I was marrying Tim and Paul wasn’t going to show up like he did in my dream. He would just be a fling I had as a pre commitment thing.

And finally the day came. It was busy. Everyone running around and getting freaked about a hair out of place or a missing necklace. Jen was even more of a wreck than I was which was funny to watch.

20 minutes to go… I was dressed and the photographer was taking pictures of me and my parents… Jen… my niece who was my flower girl. It was really nice… The limo arrived to take us to the church and finally… we were off… Off to make the commitment I’d been debating over the past weeks… We arrived after short drive around the area and I was greeted by a few people who were making their way inside. Everyone took their position… I fixed up my veil and could barely see a foot in front of me so I followed the colour of Jen’s dress.

The music began to play… and I started to walk towards the doors that would sent me down the aisle. I sighed deeply and waited for the music to cue…

I was so close to turning and running away but it was too late… I’d been seen and everyone stood to watch me walk down.

“Well… here goes nothing”
