Part 10

After saying a final goodbye and thank you to Lauren, Paul walked back into the hospital and headed straight to Tim's room. Rich was sitting by the bed, one hand holding Tim's and the other drinking what Paul assumed was probably about his tenth cup of coffee.

"How's he doing?"

Rich turned around as Paul walked into the room, placing a hand on his shoulder and looking down at Tim.

"He's doing okay. We just need him to wake up. How are you doing?"

"I'm alright. I had a chance to do some thinking while I was home, and Lauren came around and I straightened out things with her too. For the first time in a long time I think things just might work out."

"Glad to hear it."

"Would you mind leaving me alone with him for a while? I've got some things I need to say."

Rich leant over and placed a kiss on Tim's cheek before standing up. He smiled at Paul, giving him a quick hug before leaving the room. Paul sat down in the chair, moving closer to the bed, and took Tim's hand between his own once more.

"Timmy, I know you can hear me. I love you Tim, I always have, and I am so sorry for all the shit that has happened between us. I don't want to be with anyone else, you're the only one for me, and I am stupid for not realizing it earlier. My life isn't worth living if you're not in it. Don't leave me Timmy; please don't leave me. I love you so much."

Paul began to cry again, and he lifted Tim's hand up to his lips, kissing it softly. He let his head fall to the mattress next to Tim, crying softly.

"Pauly?"

Paul's eyes flicked open at the sound of Tim's voice. He looked up and found himself staring into Tim's dark eyes.

"Tim, you're awake!"

"What happened?"

"You were in a car accident. You've been in a coma for almost four days. I thought I was going to lose you."

"You'll never lose me Paul. I heard your voice. I wanted to come back to you."

Paul leant down and kissed Tim softly on the lips, tears again flowing down his cheeks, but this time out of happiness.
