Part 22
Kate looked at Wil and saw the sad expression that crossed his face; she couldn't bear to see him like that and decided she should stop lying to him.
"Okay Wil, I apologise, you don't have a son, I lied to you because I hoped it would get you to come back to me. I wish you luck in your new relationship, you should probably go now."
Wil just sat there staring at Kate, a look of absolute disbelief on his face. He could not believe that she would do something like that. He wanted to just leave, to just walk out of the room without speaking another word to her, but the urge to give her a piece of his mind first was just too great.
"I knew you could be a bitch Kate but I didn't think even you could be this cruel. How the hell could you lie to me like that? Do you have any idea how this makes me feel? No and you probably don't care!"
"Wil I.."
"Shut up! I've heard all that I want to hear from you! You said it yourself; I've always wanted to have a boy. So how could you be so cruel as to make me think I had a son when I didn't? That's just wrong Kate."
"Wil can I please say something?"
Wil nodded. But the anger was still clearly evident on his face. Kate knew she had just ruined any chance she had of getting back together with Wil, or even having a relationship with him at all.
"I'm sorry Wil, I know it was wrong to say that, but you were about to walk out of here and I couldn't bear to let you go. I love you Wil; you can't tell me you don't feel the same."
Wil stood up and looked down at her.
"Yes I can. I don't love you Kate and I can't believe that I ever did. I can't believe that for a second there I actually considering cheating on Rove with you."
Wil hadn't even realised that he'd said that until after he had. Kate just stared at him in shock. She couldn't believe that she had just heard what she thought she had.
"You and Rove?"
Wil nodded. There was no point denying it any longer, and he didn't want to anyway.
"Yes me and Rove. We're in love and nothing or no one is going to come between us, especially not you. Goodbye Kate."
"Please don't leave."
But Wil did, taking one last look at Kate before walking out of the hotel room, slamming the door behind him.
Kate then whispered something to herself. "I guess he really did want a boy."

Back at the hospital, Rove was impatiently waiting for Wil to return. He said he'd be back soon but it'd been well over an hour and Rove was worried. He hated being away from Wil even for a few minutes, so he wished he would hurry up and come back.
"He'll be back soon."
As if reading his mind, Corinne looked down at Rove and smiled reassuringly, placing a hand on top of his. He smiled back.
"Yeah I hope so. He went to meet Kate didn't he?"
Corinne paused, not really wanting to answer that question. With his usual expert timing Paul chose that moment to walk back into the room. He walked over and stood behind Corinne's chair, placing his hands on her shoulders and looking down at Rove.
"How you feeling?"
Rove just shrugged his shoulders. Before he'd been feeling alright, but he'd seen the look on Corinne's face when he'd asked his question and he knew that Wil had gone to meet Kate. As that realisation came to him he felt a wave of fear and jealousy wash over his body.
Rove knew that Wil loved him, but he also knew of the power that Kate had over Wil, and that is what he was afraid of. He tried to push those thoughts from his mind, believing in the love they shared and knowing Wil wouldn't do anything to jeopardise it.
"Rove?"
Rove shook himself from his thoughts and turned back to see Paul and Corinne both staring at him.
"What?"
Paul leant down and whispered something in Corinne's ear, and she looked up at him and nodded. She then stood up, leaning down to place a soft kiss on Rove's cheek.
"I'm gonna go and grab a coffee."
Rove nodded, but looked sideways at Paul wondering exactly what it was he'd just said to Corinne. He knew he'd find out soon enough. Corinne kissed Paul and then left the room, leaving Paul and Rove alone.
"So what is it Paul?"
Paul sat down in the chair.
"What?"
"I know you told Corinne to leave us alone for a reason."
"I thought you might need to talk."
Rove sighed, part of him not really feeling like talking but part of him also knowing that it was perhaps the best thing. And he knew Paul would give him good advice.
"I'm just scared I guess. I know Wil and I have been friends for ages, but this whole love relationship thing between us is still new. I love him more than anything and I don't want to lose him to some tramp like Kate. What if he goes back to her? What if he decides he wants her more than me? What if he's sleeping with her right now?"
Paul knew that Rove didn't really need or want answers to all those questions. He moved his chair closer to the bed and placed his hand on Rove's the same as Corinne had done.
"Listen Rove, the love that you and Wil have for each other is stronger than any I've ever seen in my life. He would never hurt you or betray you, he loves you too much."
Rove sighed again, knowing that Paul was right. But that fear was still inside of him and he couldn't shake it. Rove was just about to say something else to Paul when suddenly the door to his room opened again. Rove turned away from Paul and looked over towards the person standing in the doorway.
