Part 19
Quick reminder of what happened... Richard brought out a Diary that was found in the cave... so far the cave has been explained and we found out about the guy who use to live here 200 years ago....
Paul kept reading into the evening... We heard about how Bill (the name of the guy who lived here) treated Danny (who was the boy that he let stay in the cave)...
We learnt about how Bill got Danny to do hard work around the hut.... Hauling logs etc....
Digging trenches... setting and emptying traps and several other tasks..... He wrote more and more detailed as the diary went on and we all got a feeling as though we were actually there...
"This guy sounds like an arsehole..."
Jenny piped up...
"Well he had been alone for so long before Danny turned up... he didnt have much idea of being humane..... no sense of emotion to another human..."
Tim said in response and everyone looked at him... I think we all prefered him this way.... we missed the old TIm but this was deffinatly a nice change..
"I agree with Tim"
I said and he smiled...
I really do like him this way...He's so much more sensetive and he has wonderful opinions and maturity..... well... anyway..
"Hey Guys!!... Listen to this!!!"
Paul said and we all returned our attention to him again..
"Dear Diary....
Im losing it.... Its been 10 days since ive been able to make an entry... 5 hitch hikers came out and... i dont know why but... he let them stay in his house... They took advantage of him, eating the food we catch and taking up his space.... He even showed them his ring, the ring that he told me was his wifes.... He said it was the most valuable thing he has... And then it went missing... He told me to set traps for them... Made me dig a trap that was 13 feet deep and cover it with branches so they's fall in when walking down the hill..... he made me dig a damn so that when he knew they fell into the hole... he would fill it with water until the sides broke and the hole would flood..... He yelled at me though, when i made the dam to deep. The hitch hikers disapeared and he swore that he ever saw them again he would kill them...
He died last night... and he was unhappy..... the one thing he wanted was to die with the ring... I dont know what ill do...

Paul turned the page and his face turned
a shade of white i have never seen..
"Paul? What is it Paul?"
