Part 8
When last we left, the boys had gotten their first taste of the Doug Anthony Allstars and although found it hilarious… were rather scared by the whole concept of what they were to do. Paul couldn't sing, Richards guitar talent was not to the standard they wanted and Tim… Tim seemed to be a little unsure of his ability to be that sexy.
They boys and Spoof spent all weekend watching their works. Dead and Alive, D*A*A*S Kapital, Viva Cabaret, The Big Gig, Edinburgh Years and Bootlegs recorded at various live performances. They listened to the bootleg of their last concert tour, Live in Edinburgh, ICON, BLUE. They saw old interviews, read books and looked at their merchandise that was produced. These guys were really popular.
"I think I'm going to be sick" Richard said after they'd finished everything that Spoofy had in her forbidden library.
"Ok guys… here's what we're going to do. I'm going to make a few phone calls and get a few friends over. They're huge fans too. Richard, I want you to watch the music parts again and see if you can learn anything. Try to replicate what Fido was doing. Tim and Paul you come with me."
They followed her out of the small room leaving Richard with many videos and his guitar. As they got into the room there was a knock at the door. Spoofy answered it and allowed some a familiar looking woman into the room.
"This is a good friend of mine. She knows everything that's happened to you. Her name is…"
"Gadfly?" Tim and Paul said
"How'd you know" She asked and the giggled.
"You were at the scene of a crime back home. You were squatting behind a bush taking a leak when I approached you." Paul explained which a chuckle.
She grumbled and then smiled in a friendly manner.
"She's a singing teacher… this is going to take a lot of work but we're going to get you guys in shape"
Spoofy lead them to another room, her bedroom and shut the door locking them in with Gadfly. She then picked up the phone and called her friends.
"Hey Wild Thang?….."
"Jik! I need your help"
"Vaseline… can you come round?"
After she finished her conversations with all of them… she sat on her couch and waited….
