Part 16
Wil snuck out into the hallway and saw a figure disappearing around the corner. He followed quietly behind them, wanting to know who it was, though he already had an idea. His suspicions were confirmed when he looked around the corner and saw Belinda standing there.
He paused for a moment, wanting to confront her but also wanting to see what she was up to. He decided to wait and see what she was going to do. She headed down the hallway towards intensive care, and Wil followed quietly behind her, staying out of sight.
She stopped outside a room that Wil could only assume was Rove's. She opened the door, and Wil's heart leapt into his throat when he saw that she was holding a knife. Without thinking, especially for his own safety, Wil sprinted towards Belinda. He threw himself at her and then tackled her to the ground, just in time too because the knife was about two centimetres away from Rove's skin.
"Get off me!" She yelled.
Wil didn't reply - he snatched the knife from her hand and pulled her hair - probably not the best move he could have used on her but it was effective. She screamed some more, finally capturing the attention of some nearby hospital staff.
A doctor and two nurses ran in to find out what all the fuss was about. The doctor saw Wil with a knife in his hand and pulled him off of Belinda. He'd thought Wil was attacking her after she'd done nothing wrong - how so far from the truth that was.
"Leave her alone." The doctor calmly said to him.
"Why? She was trying to kill my boyfriend." Wil blurted out, quite disgusted with the man.
"Looks to me like you were the one doing the attacking."
Wil was about to say something else to the doctor but at that moment a security guard appeared and the doctor explained to him what he'd seen. His opinion of what had happened was of course totally wrong, but they didn't seem too interested in the real story. The guard turned to Belinda.
"Is that what happened?"
Belinda shot a distasteful glance at Wil and then turned to the security guard.
"Yes, he tried to attack me. He wants me out of the way so that he can get to Rove."
Belinda put on a sad face and Wil felt the need to groan at the insincerity of her look. The guard seemed to buy it though; he turned back and grabbed Wil roughly by the arm.
"I think you'd better come down to the station with me sir."
"Get your hands off me! She has tried to kill me and now she's tried to kill Rove, and yet you're going to arrest me? What the fuck is the matter with you?"
Wil knew he wasn't helping the situation but he really didn't care. He was angry and emotional and he couldn't keep his feelings locked up anymore.
"Alright that's enough, you're coming with me."
The guard grabbed Wil's arms and pulled them behind his back, taking his handcuffs from his belt and slapping them on Wil's wrists. He led Wil off down the corridor, and without even looking around Wil knew that Belinda was standing there watching him with a sick smile plastered on her face.
