"Oh honey you dont remember me? Of course its been 13 years but i was hoping you wouldnt be that stupid as to not remember your own mother."
"I beg your pardon? I know my real mother perfectly well. She's having a shower right now."
I fumbled to say not quite sure what was happening.
"Oh dear... so your stupid father hasnt told you then. Perhaps he thought you wouldnt be such an idiot and remember. Well not to worry i can fill you in. You're old enough now you can come and live with me. I could never stand babies... Young boys are much easier to control"
"Look i dont know who you are and i dont care. If you call again ill have you tracked down by the police!!!!" i screamed down the phone line and hung up before she could say anything back. I stood there trying to comprehend what had just happened. I turned around and was about to run to my room to think when but dad blocked my path.
"Dad... I was.."
"Randy... Your mother is in the shower and Steph has closed herself up again writing, as she does when she's upset. I think you and i need to have a talk. I have some things id like to explain to you."
Im sure my face drained of all colour as he lead me into the living room and we sat down facing eachother.
"Now i know this probably isnt going to sound good, i was hoping never to have to tell you. That she would have kept her word and left us alone."
"So... what... she said is..."
"Let me explain Randy. When you were 3 years old, i had just started performing again after DAAS ended, I just met your mother... She is your mother Randy, blood doesnt mean anything. But let me continue. Julie, which is the woman you spoke to on the phone... who was a woman i was married to a few years before came into my life and suddenly told me i had a son who was created from a sperm sample i didnt even realise she had. She told me that having a child wasnt what she expected it to be and wanted nothing more to do with you. All she told me about was your allergy to peanuts, and she wasnt even sure what it was.
I took you, naturally and married Nicole shortly after. She's been your mother ever since. She asked that she not be here when it came time for you to be told. Im sure you understand"
He was saying it all but i wasnt hearing it. It seemed muffled and hard to digest into my mind. Mum... wasnt mum... I got up slowly off the couch and... and i ran.
